Update your hours. I arrived with my family to get some ice cream at 4pm on a Saturday and it was closed. Someone passing by said the shop hasn’t been open much all summer. Give real hours so I don’t have to waste my time packing up my kids and driving to the shop only to find it Closed during its supposed open hours.

We did open later than expected this year but since July we have been open daily 3-9. We usually close Labor Day weekend but due to our later opening, we are staying open longer this season. We continue to be open 3-9 daily. If you came by at 4 on Saturday, an employee may have been in the back for a few minutes with a sign on the door. Until I post that we are closing, we will continue to be open 3-9 daily. Sorry this happened.

Tucked between Shawn's and the Frontier building in Sycamore is a hidden gem - Princess Alex Ice Cream Shop. There's no indoor seating (you can sit outside, or inside of Shawn's), but that's fine - it's all on the go. Grab a cone on the way downtown, grab a cone to eat in the car, it's all good, and a huge variety of cones, bowls, sundaes, malts, shakes, you name it. Stop in for a treat! Prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. The only "negative" is parking, but you can easily make an afternoon out of Sycamore and park in the public lots.
