Drove here from St. Clair Shores for Pronto's lesbian night. Lesbian-centered events are extremely hard to come by, even in the liberal metro Detroit/Ferndale area, so I was looking forward to it. When I got there, the bar was full of men, because the event leading up to lesbian night was watching Ru Paul's Drag Race. I find it incredibly disappointing that the *one night of the month* that is supposed to be for lesbians has something so obnoxiously male-centered leading it off. No lesbian movies or TV? Or even a show about drag kings? The organizers of this bar are at best tasteless and at worst hostile. This event seems less like an event to honor the lesbian community and more like an easy way to siphon money from a demographic that is starkly underrepresented, even in queer spaces. I won't be coming back. Also, the bar was loud as hell, requiring you to yell to talk to someone a foot away from your face. Atmosphere: 1
