My 1st time here, but nice atmosphere, outdoor eating. Prepared foods and deli, desserts, drinks and lots more. Very pleasant staff . I bought food to take home and it was delicious! 4+ .

There are so many places on Yelp that you just take for granted. I mean, as an Elite (or, an 'elitist'), how often have I reviewed a fast food place or supermarket? It wasn't until recently that I started to write about repair shops and the occasional mall. So, even though I've been coming to Prontos' for years, I never thought of writing a review for it. Which is a shame, the place isn't all that bad... Prontos' Gourmet Market is essentially a small grocery store with a deli on the side. They have full meals, ranging from fettuccine to pot roasts. They have meat and cheese to cut on demand. You can get pizza dough, fresh and uncooked pasta, sauerkraut, sausages, salads, and pretty much anything you would expect to be able to get alongside a sandwich. As far as the store is considered, the food is alright. I've never purchased any of the full meals, but the olive oil and pastas are top notch. No, most of what I've ever gotten here comes off the deli menu. For the sandwiches, none I've ever had are especially noteworthy or have stood out in memory; most being a bit dry or devoid of any spice other than a touch of salt. The real star for me, however, is my staple choice whenever I stop by, the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Salad. Nice and large chunks of breast meat, a nice blend of heat and depth to the spices, big cuts of carrots and cauliflower, and a nice tub of oil and vinegar to dip it all in alongside. Not the best salad I've ever had by a long shot, but definitely something worthwhile and somewhat healthy to have on a regular basis ... when I used to work nearby anyway. Sadly, I haven't been back here in sometime since working elsewhere. And that salad hasn't been enough to make me want to drive the long distance north to partake of it again. If it wasn't for meeting my brother here for lunch a month or so ago, I probably would have forgotten about it altogether. Still, in the end, not a bad way to spend your lunch and the store itself can easily have something for everyone to add to their dinner.
