It's not very clear where such good reviews come from. Food for its price raises questions. The service is even sadder: when you are not welcomed into the establishment, you immediately get the impression of an unfriendly place. Also, when serving food and drinks, they simply put it on the table without commenting on where it is, “figure it out for yourself”; with food you can somehow tell by its appearance, but with drinks there is a difficulty. I love this place more for the memories of my student days than for the coffee or food. Yes, the coffee is good, but there are more specialty-stable Kutyata nearby (Skuratov is also nearby, but it’s very strange). The most pleasant part of Prosvet is the large free space, many tables, low chairs. Everything looks lovely, quite cozy. Although there is a small “but” here: there are two universities nearby, and it can be quite difficult to find free places quite often. The blueberry and lavender tart is cool (but literally with specks of lavender, and it feels very ridiculous, like dry grass in a delicate mousse), the lemon meringue tart didn’t really suit me.
