Great little place. Had the tattie shack, delicious breakfast with a twist, great mixture of tradition and spices. Excellent value and really nice people in a non rushed relaxed atmosphere. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Best breakfast in town! Delightful local gem. Amazing breakfast! I’m veggie gluten free and dairy free as well and I am never disappointed with the food here which I don’t find at other local cafes! The owner-chef is sooo friendly and is never short of a story and the waitress is polite and very helpful. They source local fresh and decent ingredients and grow some of their own on the terrace as well. I have read about slow service in the earlier posts, I would say come here to enjoy the friendly local vibe and for the best breakfast in Hassocks , freshly made to order and enjoy the local feel! The purple carrot also hosts various evening events too. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £30–40

many thanks. A review that is spot on as far as I'm concerned. It's true we can be slow at times, but it is because we are making the food, as you pointed out, not just serving it...and we have a teeny weeny tiny kitchen, and we also like to give vegans and vegetarians, such as yourself, food not cooked with the meat options, or off the same bread board.
