Opening in the old Hinterhof vegan German food space on York, Put Me In Coach keeps things meatless as a 100% plant-based sports bar concept, although you wouldn't know it by the looks of the entrees. The simple menu consists of the typical fare you'd find at most local sports bars: your tacos, burgers, wings, onion rings, etc. However, there are also L.A.-specific options like the Korean bibimbap and the Chinese orange chicken. The bulk of the beers are brewed by West Adams-based Party Beer Co. Their Hazy IPA is tasty, refreshing, and a great accompaniment to your meal. The cheeseburger, although advertised as a "smashy" patty, is quite thick, flavorful and juicy. An innovation I enjoyed on it was the extra-toasted, quite solid bottom bun slice. Clearly meant to prevent the "soggy bun" that often occurs with burgers, it both adds an extra crunchiness to the burger and shows consideration to the experience of the diner. In short, it really shows that they care. The onion rings (Burger King-style with minced onion and not onion slices) that came along with the burger were fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, gently seasoned, and somewhat addictive. I ordered a second separate helping, which I enjoyed. The tacos are an elevated version of the Taco Bell yellow corn hard-shell variety, although since they're plant-based, the "meat" bears resemblance in taste to the soy/meat stuffing used in Jack In The Box-style tacos (not a criticism-JITB tacos are a guilty pleasure of mine). Everything about these tacos are better than your average fast-food taco, as the shells are fresh and more substantial, and topped with tasty grated vegan cheddar, lettuce, and fresh pico de gallo. Our server, Amelia, was polite, helpful, and fast. The rear outdoor area was like a big picnic party with about a dozen flatscreen TVs showing the sports event of the moment. At the end of our dinner, I was full but not close to bursting. This place is off to a good start. Even if you're an avowed carnivore, try this place and you won't miss the meat. Recommended!

Great new spot! The terrace was so spacious with enough TVs to watch anything you would like. Nice selection of drinks and 100% plant based food. My friend is gluten free and it was so nice that menu had indication of all the GF items on it. We got the nachos, corn and the wings which were all great. The wings have a big selection of sauce choices and if you order the largest portion of twenty one wings you can pick two sauce choices, the wings also came with a good amount of fries! Looking forward to trying all the other great food they have. Really nice laid back spot!

I recently visited this location as my company hosted our holiday party here and everything from the food, to the venue, to the service was amazing. I loved that all of the food options were plant based, this made it easy for us to accommodate different types of food allergies. We have plenty of meat eaters as well who raved about the food and not being able to tell the difference. The venue offered great indoor and outdoor space and the staff was incredible. If you are in the Glendale or Los Angeles area and looking for a quick bite, drink, or vegan meal, I would definitely recommend Put Me In Coach.
