Unfortunately, this was our only bad dining experience during our stay in Chios. We came as a family of four adults with our baby and stroller. The staff showed us several empty tables and said we could choose any of them. We chose one and used a baby high chair. It made the passage slightly narrower, but there was still enough room for people to pass. One older waiter repeatedly walked past us, making annoyed hand gestures. After a while, I asked, “So, where should I put the chair?” He again responded with an irritated gesture instead of simply telling us what to do. After that, we just wanted to finish our food and leave. We moved the chair away and held our baby for the rest of the meal. The atmosphere was nice and the food was good, but the attitude completely ruined our evening. Unfortunately, this was the only bad dining experience we had in Chios. Edit: Despite the entirely negative service experience we had, the restaurant representative responded with a polished and overly courteous message, claiming to be sorry, but adding that they had spoken to all the waiters and that none of them recalled such an incident. Well, I suppose the waiter in question was hardly going to say, “Yes, I remember — I behaved very rudely and disgracefully,” was he? If you are genuinely having trouble identifying him, he was the waiter with short, graying hair. Frankly, your so-called apology only makes matters worse. Your apology is more offensive than the original wrongdoing. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
