My favorite little local market. Lots of Disabled parking spots and store is accessible with electric doors. Great for a quick stop. Good sales and always beautiful flowers at good prices! Friendly, helpful staff. Can't say any more than that. I don't do my "big" shopping here but it has anything I need when I stop. Also has an in-store Starbucks which is handy. Celiac foods available and they carry the WOW brand gluten free cookies freshly baked, all flavors like snickerdoodle, peanut butter and delicious lemon cookies! Soft and delicious. Located in the bakery, between the cake displays. Highly recommend the store AND the cookies!

I’ve been a longtime customer of QFC on Mercer Island and had a really disappointing experience at this location today, May 11, around 10:30 PM. I was walking home on foot from the transit station to my apartment on Mercer Island and my phone had died, leaving me in a stressful situation because I needed to briefly charge it so I could either call an Uber or use my flashlight to get home safely. I went into the store planning to charge my phone for just a few minutes while using the restroom and purchasing groceries. When I asked about using the charger in the seating area, the night manager told me no due to “safety” concerns related to the new train. Even after I explained my situation, there was no flexibility, empathy, or effort to help me find another solution. What was most disappointing wasn’t necessarily the policy itself, but the lack of compassion and customer service. In moments where someone feels vulnerable or stranded, a little understanding can go a long way. I ended up going to Metropolitan Market, where they were kind, accommodating, and allowed me to charge my phone without making me feel uncomfortable or like I was doing something wrong. I’ve generally had positive experiences at this QFC in the past, which is why this interaction stood out so much. I hope management revisits how staff are trained to handle customer situations that may require a little humanity and discretion. As a Black woman, the interaction also left me feeling uncomfortable and unfairly judged, which made the experience even more upsetting.
