Resto Faysso is a spacious, quiet and comfortable restaurant and café located on the upstairs level of Club Ibn Battouta on Avenue Belgique, near Iberia, and next to Mosque Mohammed V. Resto Faysso opened in early December 2025, after extensive construction that lasted more than six months. It is in two very long rooms, each with cushioned chairs, some paintings and photos of old Tanger on the walls. There are two large flat-screen televisions on walls, one in each room, but the volume is turned down very low. Both the upstairs Resto Faysso and Club Ibn Battouta downstairs have reliable and strong Wi-Fi. A professional kitchen is on the upper level, but chicken beef brochettes are cooked over a fire in a small room down the stairs. Clean men's and women's toilets with private stalls and two sinks are located on the downstairs level off the central courtyard of the multi-room Club Ibn Battouta, which is where many students and teachers sit every day. The owner needs to install handrails on the stairs so elderly people won't fall and injure themselves. Food ranges from breakfast specials, cafés, teas, fruit juices, toast, crépes, hamburgers and cheeseburgers with crispy pommes frites, to couscouses and tajines, brochetted. filet mignon and salads. If you sit in the 80-feet-long upstairs room facing Avenue Belgique, you have a panoramic views of a landscaped park through the five large retractable plate glass windows. Hidden underground there is the large paid Parking Iberia for your car (the only entrance and exit is on Rue Phéniciens). If you need cash, there is a Banque Populaire only 20 meters away with two outside ATM machines and a third ATM inside the bank that is accessible only during weekday hours when the bank is open. Resto Faysso does not accept credit or debit cards, so you must pay in cash. The restaurant does not have any alcoholic drinks, but mineral waters, sodas, cafés, teas and milk shakes are all on the menu. This has proven to be one of my favorite places if I don't want to all the way downtown. The uniformed waiters are all friendly, polite and efficient.
