I had a very disappointing experience at Rico Paborito. We were served a bulalo that unfortunately had a fly in it. We calmly and respectfully informed the staff about the issue, expecting at least some concern or an apology. However, instead of addressing the situation properly, the employees especially the cashier, responded with a noticeably poor attitude. There was a lack of professionalism and basic customer care. Rather than making an effort to resolve the problem or reassure us, they seemed dismissive and even irritated. Situations like this can happen, but how staff handle them makes all the difference and in this case, it was handled very poorly. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both their food quality control and customer service. PS: They seemed more concerned that we had already eaten some of it, as if it would be unfair for them to replace it in full. I totally loved the food here—it’s the kind of cooking that feels like a "labor of love". The Food: Their menu is packed with delectable Filipino favorites. The Pochero and Kinilaw are widely considered "the best" by regulars. They are also famous for their "Unli Sabaw" (unlimited soup), which makes every meal feel extra sulit (worth it). The Vibe: It has a very casual and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a quick breakfast, a filling lunch, or a family dinner. They even host acoustic live bands on certain evenings to level up the dining experience. Affordability: This is one of the most budget-friendly spots in the city. You can get a hearty meal starting at very low prices, with some shared dishes like Fish Tinola serving two people for a great value.
