Our experience at RJ's Cafe was not pleasant whatsoever. I would give two stars but I did notice that other waiters were going above and beyond for their tables. If I have a negative experience at any restaurant, I always like to go back and give it another shot. As we all know, it's not fair to judge an entire restaurant based on one waiter's sh@$& attitude. Unfortunately, our experience was so bad that I left with a bad taste of the establishment. It's unfortunate when that happens, but it does happen. With that being said, we were here on a Sunday (obviously a busy time) so of course, we were patient while waiting to be seated. We got the text that our table was ready but they sat down the wrong table because someone else had my husband's name. No problem, it happens. The problem really started when our waiter came to our table. She didn't say hi or welcome or anything lol. First words out of her mouth were "do you guys know what you want?". We ordered an omelette and pancakes & two bloody Mary's. The waiter dropped off the plates and didn't even make eye contact with us as she stormed away. She did not come check on us ONE time to see if we needed anything else. My husband wanted another drink because the Bloody Mary's tasted like watered down tomato juice. All things considered we weren't mad about the drinks tasting bad because it's a breakfast spot so whatever. At the end when she brought our check she goes "you guys asked for hot sauce, right?". We never had an opportunity to even ask for anything so that was really weird. I get being busy but not greeting your table and forgetting to check on them, is not okay. One time would have been enough, but waiting to drop of the check and not making eye contact is unprofessional. I will say, the other waiters serving the other tables were friendly to their guests. That is the only reason I am not giving this restaurant a two star review. Regardless of how busy a restaurant is, greeting and acknowledging your guest is common courtesy.
