At first glance, ReaHärra looked like a charming spot to stop for a drink. The terrace seemed cozy, with a roof overhead and some tables decorated with sheepskins, which caught our attention while wandering through Tallinn’s Old Town. My mother and I decided to sit down for a glass of wine, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a mistake. From the start, the service was unwelcoming. We weren’t greeted or guided to a table. An older man, who seemed to be the owner, was sitting nearby with another restaurant’s waiter, simply staring at us instead of offering any assistance. We ended up seating ourselves, and when no one came over after a while, I approached them to ask if drinks should be ordered inside or at the table. The man curtly replied that a waiter would come. Eventually, a server showed up, but even then there was no greeting or friendliness. When she came with our drinks they were dropped on the table without a word, no “hello,” no “enjoy,” nothing. The atmosphere felt cold and indifferent. After finishing our drinks, we waited quite a while before the "owner" approached us and, with little enthusiasm, asked, “More?” When I asked for the bill, he visibly frowned. When the server finally brought us the check and we had paid did we hear the first “thank you” of the entire visit. The experience left us with the impression that customers here are not treated with warmth or hospitality, only as a source of income. It was also strange that the service took so long when there were only a few customers there.
