We booked The Raj for my partner’s 40th birthday for a family meal of 13 people, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From my very first telephone enquiry, the team were incredibly accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble, and I really appreciated that we didn’t have to pay a deposit upfront. They were helpful, friendly and reassuring throughout the booking process. When we arrived, the restaurant was clean, welcoming and beautifully presented. We handed over the birthday cake, which the team kindly looked after for us, and they showed us to our table. They had also arranged the seating so that the bill could easily be sorted individually at the end. This might sound like a small thing, but it made such a difference. I’ve been to so many large family meals where sorting the bill becomes a huge hold-up, so this was really thoughtful and well organised. Of course, with 13 of us, something was bound to happen! Our nephew managed to spill a full pint of lager all over the table, but the team were absolutely brilliant. They dealt with it so professionally and calmly, changing the tablecloth quickly without making anyone feel embarrassed. It was handled with such ease and professionalism. The food was fantastic. Despite some of us having starters and others not, everything came out together, beautifully presented, hot and full of flavour. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and there were plenty of compliments around the table. Then came the birthday cake! Once all the plates had been cleared, the team brought the cake out and even offered us small plates and spoons for anyone who wanted a piece. To top it all off, they played Happy Birthday through the sound system, which was such a lovely touch and made the celebration feel really special. We had originally booked 1988, but they couldn’t guarantee that our party would be able to sit together, which was the reason we changed our booking to The Raj. I am honestly SO glad we did. Hands down, The Raj looked after our family so well and helped make my partner’s 40th birthday a really memorable occasion. A massive thank you to the whole team for your hospitality, kindness and professionalism. You went above and beyond, and we genuinely appreciated every little detail. Keep up the great work — we will definitely be back again! xxx. My wife and I have just been to the Raj Kinara restaurant and as always we came away singing their praises. The service was excellent and the food was brilliant! The tastiest curry you could wish to have. Couldn’t fault the experience whatsoever.
