I had a pleasant dining experience at Rakka. The vibe is great, the service is friendly, and the food really hit the spot. My partner and I sampled a few Finnish classics: Sautéed Reindeer with Mashed Potatoes, Whitefish on Bread, and of course, the Squeaky Cheese for dessert. The reindeer dish was delicious. Tender meat laid on a bed of mashed potatoes, with rich gravy underneath and lingonberries plus pickles for a burst of flavor on the side. To be frank, it tasted like beef but in it's own special way. I enjoyed every bite. The whitefish appetizer was equally tasty! The sauces added a playful mix of flavors that made the dish even more fun. And the squeaky cheese? Oh, we couldn’t leave without trying it (shoutout to our tour guide Roosa for the recommendation). It's exactly what the name promises, squeaky, and totally delicious. I’d go back just for that dessert. If you’re in Skaarselkä, make some time to stop by Rakka.
