I had a very disappointing experience here, especially with the masala chai. I traveled almost 20–30 miles specifically to visit this place and even called ahead before coming. The chai was so bad that I couldn’t even drink it. When I went to the counter to politely show them the chai and explain the issue, the experience became even worse. The lady at the counter was extremely rude and started asking me where I was from and what language I spoke. Instead of listening to my concern, she simply told me, “This is how chai will be here.” I found the way she spoke to me very disrespectful and saying you only need money to refund instead saying to how she can correct. What bothered me even more was her attitude and the way she reacted. She spoke to me in a very dismissive and condescending manner, almost as if a customer’s concern did not matter at all. The way she carried herself and responded made me feel like I was beneath her just for questioning the quality of the chai. It was completely unnecessary and made an already disappointing experience much worse. Today happens to be my birthday, and I came here hoping to enjoy a nice cup of masala chai. Instead, the interaction at the counter completely ruined the experience and left me very upset. Based on my experience, I personally would not recommend coming here for chai or coffee. The quality of the drink was disappointing, but more importantly, customers/people should be treated respectfully when they raise a genuine concern. UPDATE — Response to the owner: I saw your response, and I’m honestly even more disappointed. You chose to focus on the fact that I ordered one $2.99 tea and asked for two empty cups to share it with my parents. Whether I order one tea or ten is my choice as a customer. Does ordering one tea somehow justify the quality of what was served or the way I was treated? My complaint was never about $2.99, and refunding $2.99 does not address what actually happened. My concern was the quality of the chai and, more importantly, the way you spoke to me when I raised the issue, including asking where I was from and what language I spoke. Your response still does not acknowledge or apologize for the way I was treated. Instead, bringing up how much I spent and that I shared the tea with my parents feels dismissive. Rama’s Foods are the only foods for me. She had run out of something and came up with a great idea for a dosa entree with sambhar. Amazing. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20
