Ramu Chan is a barbecue restaurant nestled in the bustling area of Ueno 5-20-15 in Tokyo. Known primarily for its lamb dishes, this establishment offers an intriguing take on traditional Genghis Khan-style barbecue. Although it hasn’t gained extensive recognition in popular restaurant directories aside from a minimal profile on Foursquare, it has piqued the curiosity of a niche group of diners in the know.
Guests at Ramu Chan can enjoy their meals without the worry of smoke as there's no outdoor seating, and indoor smoking is accommodated. The restaurant’s focused dinner menu attracts those interested in reservations and who prefer to pay by credit card. Addressing practical needs, restrooms are available on-site.
Interestingly, Ramu Chan doesn’t provide live music, which allows visitors to focus entirely on their dining experience, where generously seasoned lamb and crisp vegetables marinated in lamb fat take center stage. Past guest reviews—although not recent—have noted the tender quality of the meat and the overall flavor, influenced by savory marinades and unique condiments. Operating hours from lunch through midnight on most days offer ample opportunity to indulge at your convenience, despite the absence of fresh reviews or updates on changes in menu or operations.
