Trendy american diner style spot for a burger close to the city centre. Ordered The Racsal burger in a combo. Burger was ok, bun was soft, patty tasted good but wasn't very thick and the sauce was nice and tangy. Chips were crispy with a nice chicken salt. Service was friendly and although it was a busy weekend night was still quick. Was a very cold evening and they had the main front window open. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$20–40

Normally I don’t leave bad reviews, but we had a terrible experience on 27 June around 2 pm. One of our burgers came with a human hair in it. The waitress took it away, apologised, and offered a replacement, which we accepted. While she took it back to the kitchen, I watched the staff’s reaction and both of the chefs laughed. In a food business, hygiene is the most important thing. Taste is different for everyone, but hygiene should never be compromised. I also noticed that the kitchen staff were not wearing gloves, which may explain how the hair ended up in the burger. I would strongly recommend better hygiene practices. Instead of laughing, this should have been an embarrassing situation for the kitchen staff. Three hours after eating, my stomach is only just starting to feel normal again. The prices are affordable and the atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately the kitchen hygiene was very disappointing. Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Hi Burke, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and that we let you down. Finding a hair in a meal is unacceptable, and we completely understand your disappointment. While we’re pleased our team apologised and replaced your burger immediately, we’re sorry this didn’t restore your confidence. We also take your comments regarding the interaction you observed in the kitchen very seriously. That is certainly not the impression we want to leave with any guest, and we’ve already addressed this with the team. We have strict food safety and hygiene procedures in place, and your feedback has prompted us to review them again with all kitchen staff. We’re also sorry to hear you felt unwell afterwards and hope you’re feeling much better now. We’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can better understand what happened and make things right. If you’re willing, please contact us at hello@eatrascal.com.au with your contact details. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

I love Rascals!!! This place got me through a gruelling uni degree. I can’t fault it and to me it is one of life’s most simple pleasures. A rascal burger 10/10. This place is perfect for a quiet bite to eat or catching up with mates. Staff are always really friendly and the service is quick and kind. Thank you so much for all the great food and helping fight uni burnout! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
