Lovely welcome by Harry, friendly and professional. Ambience was lovely. Plenty of character and lovely views. Our waitress Laura was lovely, chatty, friendly, professional and informative. Personally we thought menu was a little short. Husband had Terrine as starter and thoroughly enjoyed. His main course was the pork chop which was flavoursome but very dry. My crispy pork baguette was OK, more apple sauce was needed to make the baguette less dry. Despite our small disappointments we will return. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40

We arrived at the Rat Inn on the 1st march and were greeted warmly by the staff. We had not booked and managed it get a table in the bar area, where we sat with our dog. The food was outstanding! 2 courses were plenty, I had seabass to start and beef dinner. Washed down with a bloody Mary which was perfectly prepared by the knowledgeable and lovely barman. Definitely recommend, can't wait to go back and try the mid week menu. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40
