From the moment we entered, excellent service and food. Definitely recommended this place! We had the koobideh kabob, the walnut salad, and ended with the Persian hot chocolate. Persian hot chocolate with rose water and cardamom is a must! We loved how they had a “how to eat a Persian kabob” guide. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. But not good. Bland, no taste.. and it is a ROAD house..no character - big brown wooden tables and chairs. VERY disappointing.

We had an early dinner (4:30pm) at Rayhoon Persian Eatery, Burlington. Despite being the only people in the restaurant we were sat at a table for two by the window. The window got colder as the evening progressed. (Avoid the tables by the windows.) We had Kashkeh Bademjoon - Eggplant topped with a yogurt sauce flavoured with garlic, onion & mint which we found quite bland. We upgrade our bread to the Barbari Bread - Persian flat bread which was served warm. (A nice touch!) For our main course we had Lamb Shank With Baghali Polo - braised lamb shank spiced with cinnamon, bay leaf & dill, broad bean basmati rice, and lamb broth. The meal was nicely spiced but the lamb leg was stringy. We also ordered Abgoosht (Dizi) - Persian stew served in a brass pot with chunks of slow cooked lamb, chickpeas, white beans, potatoes, and tomatoes. You mash up the items in the brass pot with the pestle and eat with pita, tomato based sauce, and/or cilantro sauce. We like the textures and spice e in the meal. The lamb was melt in your mouth. For dessert we had Rollette - white cake with cream, rose water and pistachios. It was a nice light dessert.
