I visited on Thursday, and the atmosphere was very unpleasant. The manager was shouting at and swearing at staff members to the point where I felt uncomfortable and decided to take my food as a takeaway and leave. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I've experienced this at Volksrust Spur. I was there on Mother's Day as well, and the same thing happened. The boss(white tall guy) was shouting and swearing at employees, and it was clear that the staff were intimidated and afraid of him. What was particularly concerning was hearing him refer to one of the staff members as "kaffir," which is a highly offensive racial slur. Based on what I witnessed, this raised serious concerns about racist behaviour. I have also noticed what appears to be a difference in the way customers are treated. In my experience, the Boss seems to give more attention to white customers than to black customers when we are dining at the restaurant. What stands out is that whenever he is not around, everything seems to run smoothly, and the food is always excellent. The staff appear more relaxed, and the overall dining experience is much more enjoyable. I believe all customers and staff deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Today I went there with my sister to celebrate our birthdays.I was so disappointed with the staff today, they refused to give me the free ice cream even singing for me i had to beg just because my birthday was on the 2nd of May they said it has passed, I had no idea that there were terms and conditions about that.... Next time please tell us the terms and conditions for the free ice cream because I can't be humiliated like that again... Price per person: R 200–300 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
