The first stop was a small cash only Asian bakery, I ate a delicious Kaya bun and tried the Pandan cake thanks to our hosts. The tour continued through a busy fishmonger, Asian butcher, grocery market and herbal/tea store. The Northbridge area has more than one of each and we also walked past a Thai grocery store and Vietnamese style butcher. I was pleased to find some West Australian produce in the way of prawns, dumplings, hokkien noodles, azuki paste and meat. The butcher we visited uses local Harvey beef and Linley valley pork .

The beauty of the numerous caterers that are involved with this food solution is that there is such variety on offer for whatever your function may be.

Lead by Yvonne Bleach with additional help from her family members, they have become one of my guaranteed sources of a gluten free dish when at a food festival as often, unfortunately, this can be a little lacking from other stall holders... Red Hot Spatula also provides a catering service in addition to running a variety of cooking classes in their commercial kitchen located in Middle Swan.
