I would like to share my recent experience at your Red Mango cayey establishment. During my visit, I noticed that some employees were making fun of my disability. This made me feel uncomfortable and negatively affected my experience as a customer. As part of your commitment to inclusion and respect, I urge you to train your staff to be more sensitive to individual differences.” He explained what happened. I am autistic, I have autism. During my visit, I was sitting at one of their tables consuming yogurt when one of the employees suddenly shouted. This caused me a fright and discomfort in my ears, to which I proceeded to cover my ears. something common, and normal in autistic people since many autistic people have sensory hypersensitivity, I want to clarify that I did not do it with bad intentions, it was a natural movement for me. One of the employees noticed my act and told it to the employee who had shouted something that I did not consider very important. Seconds later, the two employees left the establishment and the employee who shouted looked at me and did not care either. I didn't pay much attention or importance after a few seconds I proceeded to leave the establishment to finish eating the yogurt, I found myself sitting on one of the benches when a red Mitsubishi passed me in front and decided to suddenly accelerate before moving away from my location, This caused me shock and pain, I proceeded to move my gaze upwards and I found the two employees inside the car laughing, one driving and the second as a passenger, I was surprised and could not believe that two adult women were making fun of one. person with a disability so I decided to ignore it because it seemed somewhat incredulous, I was in complete denial so I decided before leaving to order a juice so I could continue on my way home, when I ordered one of the employees who was laughing at my mess Sensory proceeded to give me the order and speak to me in an unnecessary high tone of voice confirming that what I was experiencing was happening. I explain to him what sensory hypersensitivity is. when a person has a very intense reaction to stimuli (noises, lights, pain...), since they perceive them very strongly and may even feel pain or great discomfort I want to clarify that I was not angry that the employee yelled. Out with the mocking acts. I suggest that training be carried out to raise staff awareness about the importance of inclusion, empathy and that not all disabilities are visible.
