I have such a huge sweet tooth, I love sweet things! Anything from pastries to candy to chocolate. The only exception for me is cakes. I just don't like them unless they meet a certain specification. I'm a nitpicky cake eater. I generally avoid sponge cakes because I hate the texture - it's so dry and it's usually accompanied by buttercream frosting, which has never really been my favorite. But as always, I like being proven wrong, and I like making exceptions, and Red Ribbon certainly is an exception. I find that their cakes aren't as dry as the Goldilock's cakes, and they're certainly more moist and richer in flavor. My favorite cake of theirs is the Black Forest Cake, it's my lola's favorite too so we always get it for her birthday. The chocolate sponge cake base is moist and fluffy and the buttercream is the perfect balance between light and creamy. It's not the best Black Forest I've ever eaten, but it's definitely a good one. Red Ribbon brownies are another story though - I could eat a whole bag of them in a sitting. They're the perfect chewy-moist-rich kind of brownie and if you're in need of a quick brownie fix then Red Ribbon is your safest bet!
