We arrived early at this lovely little restaurant, soft jazz and tasteful Italian decor welcomed us along with an array of the proprietors home made products made from local produce. We chatted with the owner, a kind man who told us about his time in Italy learning the tricks of the trade. We made our way through the mushroom bruschetta, the extravagant salad and the delicious selection of bread before moving onto the mains. A tangy lemon pasta, coated with delicious garlic and chilli, a delight for the palette. Then a rich and creamy risotto, the rice in which was cooked to perfection. Washed down with a crisp white wine, delicious, a rarity in Japan. Highly recommended, would come again to this hidden gem. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Renato We wanted to catch a quick bite and just ordered two dishes but ended up spending a long time ordering more dishes and chatting with the chef who manages this place single-handedly. He’s not the kind that welcomes you in a loud voice. He in fact made no effort to impress and didn’t really return my cheerful greeting but his dishes spoke enough and after some warming up he got pretty chatty. He’s particular about every ingredient he uses and has a story for them. From olive oil to sesame for his Biscotti Regina everything is meticulously chosen. Loved his short pasta varieties. You don’t usually see these in Japan. The place was very reasonable we had to wonder how he could afford such quality for the price. Don’t miss this restaurant if you are in Tsuruga.
