The time I came to Rengatei with my teachers for an enkai was great. A great menu prepared, and foods that made me strive to come here for lunch.Unfortunately, I was surprisingly disappointed when I did. For 1,200円, I was looking forward to the shrimp, scallop, and asparagus cream pasta. Taking a step away from my typical spicy affair, I have been desiring a cream stew or a creamy and thick sauce.The pasta flavor was great. The pasta was properly al dente. The sauce was flavorful, and each ingredient was tender.However, the sauce was too thin. It wasn't a cream pasta, and more of a milk pasta. I let it sit for a few minutes to try to thicken, hoping it was "just out of the pan". Sadly, to no avail.This is a 2 minute fix! If you absolutely, are in a bind, add some parmesan (don't go crazy), and toss. This will help it thicken and stick.Or, time your pasta better and drain it. It should not drain into your sauce. You control the amount of pasta water going into the dish to give it that glaze.But to me, this is a fix that was too easy to make to this mistake.
