My experience at Restaurante Contos de Réis, in Ouro Preto, was deeply disappointing. After a long wait for a table, we finally sat down and decided to try the Costelinha Conto de Réis dish. However, we were greeted with a big unpleasant surprise: upon taking the first bite of the ribs, we discovered that the meat was completely frozen. This discovery led us to the disturbing conclusion that the restaurant was serving frozen food as if it were a house specialty, which is unacceptable for an establishment that aims to offer an authentic, quality dining experience. Furthermore, the side dishes, especially the rice, left a lot to be desired, with an appearance that indicated they were poorly reused leftovers. It is deeply disappointing to find such questionable practices in a restaurant that, at first glance, seemed promising. I hope that Contos de Réis Restaurant will review its preparation methods and food quality to ensure that its customers receive fresh, well-prepared meals worthy of the reputation they wish to maintain.
