Boy, time has passed for sure. The taste is average at its best and the portion is a letdown.
In all fairness we order the small portion, nonetheless it's a decision made based on their advice that small portion is good for 3-4 persons. Not sure that we have the same idea of what kind of persons they are reffering to, but looking at the portion, we're pretty sure it's more suitable for 2 persons (or 3 max).
We order crystal prawn, babi kuluyuk, fuyung hai and ayam nanking. The babi kuluyuk actually tastes ok, but the portion is a total joke. Fuyung hai and ayam nan king are a bit off. They don't taste bad per se, but they don't taste like the ones you normally find in old style Chinese Food restaurants.
What we like most is the crystal prawn. The prawns are fresh and tasty but not overwhelmingly salty (like some cases with crystal prawn).
We always order fuyung hai, ayam nanking and babi kuluyuk in old style Chinese Food restaurant as a simple test. If they cannot make them right, we won't eat the other foods.
All in all we might come here again only for the nostalgic feeling, but otherwise we will pass for other restaurants.
Favorite food: lindung cah fumak, soup ikan gurame, yipiao, mun tahu.
Yesterday I visited this restaurant, ordered food for two: mapo tahu (was okay) and kailan cah sapi (really delicious).
Service is good. Nice for casual dinner.
