Reta's is by far the best restaurant I've been to, and I've been to alot of restaurants. It honestly felt like an experience, not a meal. The aesthetic is wood + plants. Very earthy and calm. The music created just the right ambiance and atmosphere. The food. I'm honestly out of words. You just need to go and try it for yourself. I felt like with every bite, I wanted more. Each dish was made with creativity. It was the first time that I taste food that feels like I've never tasted before. 1. Beef Tartare Tartelettes 8.9/10: It wasn't your typical beef tartare, no no.... it was put into this crispy outer shell, with all the ingredients inside and you eat it with your hand in a bite or two. Wonderful 2. Parisienne Gnocchi 9.2/10: What the hell was that! It wasn't a potato Gnocchi, it was crispy gnocchi in a very rich cheesy sauce. The sauce was so good I started drinking it with a spoon! That flavour EXPLODES IN YOUR MOUTH!!! I mean it! It's extremely unique. We got the sourdough bread with it. I recommend doing that too :) 3. Halibut (made with Black Cod substituted for that night) 10/10: Wow. I need to meet Reta's owner and the chef who cooked this dish personally to thank them for this dish. I honestly have never ever EVER eaten a fish dish like this one. It looked like pure art on a canvas! It somehow combined the perfect flavours with textures. Every bite I took of the cod melted, and every bite of the potato pavé had a punch of crispness. Mix it all with the sauce and I literally felt like I was floating. My eyes were wide open trying to figure out what I'm tasting. As you take each bite, you hear the music in the background extremely soothing and the plants infront of you.... like I said, it wasn't a meal, it was an experience! 4. Dark chocolate & fernet 9.2/10: To end it all off on a good note, i had to try this out. It felt like you ended a movie on a cliff hanger for part 2. I ended my meal and was looking forward to the next one already. This balanced the bitterness of the dark chocolate with the sweetness of the milk sorbet. Wonderful, had it with a local Java Blend espresso. To end my very long review, I'm coming back. I want more and expect the same or better experience. Also to note, our servers were very hospitable, informative, and super friendly! The 2 ladies working that night added to the experience for sure! Reta's, you've outdone yourself and earned a new loyal customer. Thank you to the owner, chef, and staff for this wonderful experience :) Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
