I waited 20 minutes just for a glass of juice, and after 30 minutes they still couldn’t even take my order — the worst service I’ve ever seen Service: 1

Had a long day at work and wanted a quick bite for lunch/dinner. Desk clerk at hotel recommended this place and it looked good online, so.. Menu looked good and narrowed it down to two different burgers or the filet medallions. Ended up with a Caramel Apple Pecan Bourbon Bacon Burger, say that 5 times fast!! It also had cheddar cheese on it as well. It sounded intriguing and like it would go well with the Smoked Amaretto Bourbon which was very good. The burger was a great match, cooked perfectly (medium like a burger should be). The flavor profile was actually amazing, was sure if this was gonna be a winner or WTH were they thinking. Had crispy Granny Smith apple slices, chipped pecans, nice slab of cheddar, crispy bacon, and a bourbon BBQ sauce. All of this went very well together, was a 10 for flavor. Bun was eh, but it really didn't detract from the burger, it was nicely toasted but nothing special. Fresh cole slaw, not chopped, thank the Lord (I hate chopped cole slaw), good dressing, veggies nice and crisp. Nice house made kettle chips. I think the servers name was Annabell, was very nice and helpful. Will definitely come back tomorrow night for dinner as I want to try the filet medallions. Interesting they have the Rhinelander Taproom listed separately from the Rhinelander Cafe and Pub, but a number of people are commenting here on the Pub's food. The taproom itself is great. Definitely the best selection of tap craft beers in Rhinelander, and probably in northern Wisconsin. I can always find some great new beer to try out. Almost always have offerings from New Glarus, Founders, Bell's, Three Floyds, and some of the great newer breweries in Milwaukee. They offer good-sized flights, so you can enjoy a good selection and still be able to drive home safely. Always very friendly and attentive service at the bar, and they will serve from a limited menu there, as well. Good stop for date night or happy hour.
