If you are ever traveling down I-45 between Ennis and Corsicana and are hungry stop at Rice Cafe - Rice, Texas. It was recommended by a friend and we had lunch there today. You are greeted with a friendly smile and find your spot in this small cafe that will seat maybe 45 people. Looked like lots of locals eat there and they know your order. They give you a tasty cup of soup to start. We ordered and devoured the best fried, home made hot onion rings. Curt enjoyed his chicken fried chicken (the coating stayed on) mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. I enjoyed my chopped steak, onion gravy, green beans and awesome fried okra. Everything was fresh and hot! Very reasonable prices. I hear the pancakes are the best my friend has ever had. They are family owned and have been in business since 2018. So glad we stopped. And we have a small portion of each meal to have for dinner tonight.
