We had a really mixed experience here. The food was good but the service slow and often incorrect. We had drinks and starters not arrive and an incorrect bottle of wine sent over too. Of course mistakes happen! But what really mattered was that the floor manager seemed to imply we were lying about certain items needing to be removed from our bill. A guest of ours watched her check with the bar staff if we were lying about our orders and the whole thing just put a bit of a dampner on our night. As such we decided to not pay the discretionary service charge (which we were planning on paying, up until the manager came over to question us). Perhaps it was just bad luck on who we had serving us but I'm not sure I'd return based on this. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Went for an early Christmas dinner and birthday celebration. Turkey dinner was good; turkey itself wasn’t dry and the trimmings were ok. Wish the trimmings were more traditional. Overpriced for what you get. The cod loin, however, was great. The gravadlax was good. Smoked duck was a bit dry. Sticky toffee doughnuts were not good at all. Its sauce was nice but would give this dessert a miss. Overpriced and tastes cheap. The service was ok; but they did bring over a birthday cake which was lovely and so appreciated by the old man. I’v been to the Riding House Fitzrovia a few times now and each time has been great. Today was particularly lovely, Jasmine (one of the receptionists) was extremely bubbly and her friendliness and compliments made my day. Food was fantastic as usual, would definitely recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
