A few days ago, we had a young couple from overseas visit our restaurant. We informed them that only the lunch menu was available during lunchtime, but they remained standing, consulting a translation app for quite some time without even sitting down. A regular French customer kindly helped explain the menu to them. However, the couple didn't even thank him and continued looking at the menu for a while. With other customers arriving, I asked them what they wanted to order. They pointed to a Google photo and said, "Two curries with crab cream croquettes, please." I prepared and served their order, but they asked for the bill within minutes. The food tray was a messy, disastrous sight, which was disappointing. I asked, "Weren't you hungry?" but they didn't answer, only muttering something inaudible. There are many cultural differences, of course. If you're visiting a country, I think you should have the appropriate attitude, knowledge, and respect for the language.
