Although the name may evoke more intense flavours, the Cuore e Midollo restaurant in Gallarate won us over with a business lunch that was able to combine strong flavors with an unexpected delicacy. The menu of the day, at a truly competitive price (€16 each for first course, second course, water and cover charge), allowed us to enjoy traditional dishes revisited with originality. The risotto with Treviso radicchio and taleggio was creamy and tasty, while the fusilli al ferretto with veal ragout brought us back to the flavors of home, but with a more refined touch. The meat, chunks of beef with peppers and soy, was tender and flavorful, a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. The fennel flan with mustard apple cream surprised us with its lightness and the unusual but perfect combination of ingredients. The baked potatoes, a timeless classic, were well cooked and tasty. To conclude on a sweet note, we opted for a pumpkin bavarois, an original and tasty choice that delighted our palate. The service was courteous and attentive, the environment welcoming and relaxing. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food offered at such a low price. We will certainly return to try the à la carte menu, which promises an even richer and more varied culinary experience.
