This is not at all like the Fisherman's Boot other than it's in the same place and has reasonable prices. Much of the character of the Boot was in all the cheesy signs and posters on the wall, but here they have a ways to go... I ordered the #3 breakfast with sausages (very good, not deep fried) and two eggs (over easy). The eggs unfortunately were over done and the grill temp must have been very hot (see picture). I would probably say that this place will be less of a breakfast place than a lunch/pho place. I'll probably stick to Steveston Hotel for greasy spoon breakfast. They still have fishermen coming in there too for ambiance :)

Riverside Cafe might have closed for a short time, but it has re-opened in a new location, in the DFO small craft harbor in Richmond, at the foot of Trites, right beside the south arm of the Fraser. I know this because I work in the harbor a stone's throw away. Plus he's using menus with Mitchell Island still printed on them as the location. Same hole in the wall kind of operation, a breakfast-lunch til about 4pm kind of place. Nothing elaborate, your basic Pho soups, a few rice and noodle dishes, and some burger/club sandwich stuff. The owner is still trying to get on his feet, and is a bit of a one man show so food can take a bit of time, but the Pho is worth it. As an older white guy if I go to a Vietnamese place screw the burgers and stuff, I can get that anywhere, give me Pho. That being said, the burgers, as all of the other menu items are reasonably priced. The DFO harbor Riverside is located in is a low traffic area, lots and lots of free parking. Public is welcome. Try it out.

Tiny little lunch place.Really rustic, but does a great job at serving you lunch.Chicken in rice is what I always order.
