Yesterday, Saturday the 7th, Michelle and I elected to visit Riviera Dunes for lunch. As first-timers from Bradenton for this restarant, we had no preconceived ideas about what we might find. We were initially just surprised to find such a lovely and pleasant space to dine on a rather cold day. We sat in a booth and immediately noticed the lovely hand painted mural on the adjacent wall and the nice view of the boats through the window. We both said "this is great way to begin our lunch. The wait staff, Jordan and Tina, greeted us soon there after, and we connected immediately given their friendly and helpful manner. So, we ordered the blue crab appetizer and drinks which arrived promptly with appetizer being an immediate hit. We loved it! For entrees, I ordered the grouper sandwich and Michelle ordered the cod. Both entrees arrived shortly and everything was hot and obviously well prepared. In summary, we had a terrific experience! My only additional comment is that we would have liked to see some hard-crusted rolls in addition to (or in place of) the chips that were served with the appetizer. We are planning to return soon.
I would have given 2 stars if the manager who brought our dinner had stopped apologizing and asked what else he could do..... we had 6pm reservations for 6 people and as we were seated, we were handed just 2 menus. We ask for additional menus and the response was" we have limited menus for all the tables. We asked again as 2 menus for 6 people is ridiculous. She was able to get us one more. She took our drink orders and it then took 37 minutes to get one beer and 4 soft drinks. The food came out 2 plates at a time until the last plate was not delivered - We tried to track down the waitress or anyone while we patiently waited.... we did start to eat before the dishes got cold and yet no-one to track down. the waitress was so busy that she never came back to check on us or refill our glasses. We finally tracked down another server and inquired about the missing plate. our waitress finally came as we were continually asking ourselves if the dish was coming late or did they forget .... Turns out they never put the order in and the last person was not able to eat with us and refused the dish as we were almost finished the manager was requested to the table and all he offered was apologies.... THIS IS NOT OK!!!! he didn't have the decency to offer one comp meal for the couple. To sum it up, go elsewhere!!! The service and integrity are below anyones expectations!
