We had a wonderful experience here! The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the kitchen truly stole the show. The balance of flavors and sauce pairings was incredible, and the seafood was cooked to perfection - the texture was spot on. My only minor critique is the heavy use of raw cucumber and radish across almost every dish; to me, they felt a bit redundant on the plate. Still, that’s just a matter of personal taste. The atmosphere and service were very good, and the beef carpaccio was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the lobster was a disappointment. Given that Riviera is a Michelin-selected restaurant, I expected a much higher level of execution. The lobster meat was overcooked and quite firm, lacking the tender, buttery texture that properly cooked lobster should have. What made the experience even more puzzling was that the lobster was covered with a thick layer of foam. In hindsight, it almost made me wonder whether the kitchen was aware that the lobster was overcooked and tried to mask the issue under the foam. I do have a point of comparison, having enjoyed lobster dishes on several occasions in Mauritius, where lobster is widely available and commonly served. Compared with those experiences, this preparation fell noticeably short. This was especially surprising considering the restaurant displays live lobsters, which naturally creates high expectations for both freshness and preparation. At €48.85 for half a lobster, I believe it is reasonable to expect flawless cooking of the restaurant's signature seafood offering. Overall, a pleasant experience with some strong elements, particularly the beef carpaccio, but the lobster did not live up to the standard or value one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
