Beautiful hotel that righteously is a historic landmark. Restaurant, as described here multiple times, is a disgrace. Dirty tables and menus, blatantly untrained staff, and greasy, unpleasant meals. Obviously, high price and on top cash only. Restaurant alone 0/5 stars. Management urgently needs to intervene to not destroy reputation further. Service: 1 Location: 5

Avoid. Terrible service, orders were incorrect, expensive - two $30 and two $40 fish dinners were served room temperature by a very old, scattered woman who was missing teeth. She did not serve dressing with salads, forgetting one dinner salad altogether. The glass balsamic vinegar and oil cruets were filthy, and the one for the balsamic dribbled all over the diner's hand when used. The entree portion size for a $30 plate was very small. Rolls that were to come with all dinners never arrived. The bill was incorrect, and our server was never seen again. Service: 1 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Great view

The Everglades Rod & Gun Club is a "must see" hotel and restaurant in Everglades City. Located on a canal, it is a step back in time to 1922 when it was built. The screened in porch and hotel lobby are worth seeing what it was like almost 100 years ago. Sit a spell - enjoy. As for the food, a decent lunch with two unusual items: frogs legs and alligator bites. Fried Oysters looked good. Both were tender and crispy hot. For $17.95, the portions could have been bigger. Even more fries would be nice. Ice cold beer and wine. Good service and allowed us to enjoy a leisurely meal. Cash only. Should have tried the key lime pie.
