Went to this restaurant expecting good BBQ based on the long lines, but unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We spent around $150 for a family of four, expecting leftovers for the weekend, and most of it ended up in the trash. The biggest issue was how overly sweet and salty everything tasted. The lemonade was so sweet that it was undrinkable. The sweet potato pie and yams were also overwhelmingly sweet. The corn muffins went straight into the trash. The greens were extremely salty, and the ribs had such a strong liquid smoke flavor that it lingered long after eating. Yuck!!! The seafood salad was decent, and the mac and cheese was probably the best thing we had, but overall, the meal was nearly inedible. Even the kids were spitting food out, and kids usually aren’t that critical of food. I honestly don’t understand how a BBQ spot with lines this long can serve food this unbalanced. If you’re over 40 and prefer food that isn’t overloaded with sugar and salt, this place may not be for you. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

Zero stars across the board honestly. First and last time customer. Food was trash, cold and burned, parking situation terrible, when you order online it’s an automatic 45 min - 1 hr wait. Also, I did not receive all the ribs that were supposed to be in my order. No one answers the phone and I also submitted a complaint on the website which I received no response to. Very disappointed, besides the burnt ribs, the sides weren’t impressive at all and again I did not receive all of the food I paid for. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Okay, so I have to write this review about The Rolling Rib Part 2. I've been a loyal customer since they were just a food truck near Freddy's Liquor Store back in District Heights. Their food used to be truly amazing! But honestly, things have taken a turn for the worse. I only went twice this entire 2025 season (April and November), because the ribs both times were severely dry and had a terrible beef jerky-like consistency. I used to go weekly and spend a lot of money, but I can't justify it anymore since the quality dropped and the prices went up. They have major operational issues, too. They're located in a remote spot, and the frustrating thing is, they won't answer their phones and their online ordering system is broken. This forces you to drive all the way out there and wait in the awful, hours-long lines (they are clearly understaffed and don't care about the wait time), just to find out when you get to the register to order, that they're already out of key food items or desserts. If they would just answer their phones and fix their online ordering system, they wouldn't have so many people stuck clogging up their parking lot! Every business, including this popular Black-owned spot, needs to keep its quality high and treat customers right. They really need to fix the food and the service if they want to keep people coming back. If it remains this way, I wouldn’t care if they returned going forward.
