Visited on a Saturday evening as we were moored on the canal. Quite busy, but they managed to find us a table for two. I think it would have been difficult had there been more of us. There was a birthday party going on which was slightly noisy but to my mind added to the atmosphere. Despite this, service was good and our meals were delivered very quickly. They have a big array of burgers which are, based on what we had, pretty big. I did not have room for dessert! Can recommend the cheese burger and the peri peri chicken burger. Served with chunky skin on chips and a nice coleslaw. The staff were well organised and happy. All in all, very satisfied. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chips and Burger

Very disappointed with the Rose & Castle. This pub is close to the canal and we had cruised pass other pubs to get there. Only to find it has only limited opening times, no internal drink only area, although the menu looked good but all tables were fully booked. Only saving was it was a nice evening and we could sit outside. Next time we will cruise pass this pub.
