I've given this restaurant more chances than I probably should have. Every time I've been here, the service has felt unfriendly, and the staff has come across as rude and unwelcoming. Today was the final straw. I had actually told my husband I wasn't going back because of the way we've been treated in the past. However, since we live in a small town where most restaurants close around 2:00 p.m. on weekends, I called a couple of other Mexican restaurants first. No one answered, so I decided to give this place one more chance. I called in an order for an enchilada meal with three cheese enchiladas and red sauce, a kids' taco plate, and a taco plate. When I arrived, I was told my total was over $84, which immediately seemed much higher than expected. I politely asked if I could see the ticket because I wanted to understand the charges. Instead of simply explaining the order, the employee immediately became defensive. I told her there was no need to give me attitude because I was simply trying to understand why my total was so high. She responded by telling me that I was the one giving her attitude--all because I had asked to see the ticket. I explained that I was only questioning an $84 bill, that I've fed my entire family here before for less than that. After looking into it, it turned out my order had been entered incorrectly as three enchilada plates instead of one plate with three cheese enchiladas. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, I was met with even more attitude. And told, I should have told her correctly that their plates come with three enchiladas. I asked if I could speak with the manager and was told the manager was her aunt, but that she wouldn't speak with me because she only spoke Spanish. At that point, I decided to leave without the food. Mistakes happen--I completely understand that. But customers shouldn't be treated poorly for asking about an $84 bill, especially when the restaurant made the mistake. A simple explanation and apology would have completely changed the experience. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. After multiple visits with consistently rude, unwelcoming service, I've decided I won't be returning. I truly hope management takes customer service more seriously because their food isnt even all that only convenient for how close I live but I'll make the extra 10mins to another town now.
