Gin, Whiskey and Rum tasting flights with knowledgeable bar tenders and artistic distillers

Was gifted a red balloon experience for a whiskey and gin flight as well as a cheese board. Very excited to come try it out as the reviews look great. Until we got there, staff behind the bar pointed to where our ‘booked’ table was and that our flights and cheese board will be out soon. To which we waited 20 mins until I went up to the bar to retrieve a menu to order a pizza as my husband was hungry. Flights arrived 35 mins after we sat down, and the waiter had no idea about the whiskeys, ‘ I think that one is . And that one is sorry I don’t know anything about the whiskeys. The 3 gins were explained. We almost finished our tasting 10 mins later and still had not received the cheese platter, I had to go ask up at the bar, to which they brought it out straight after asking. The cheese platter was so so disappointing considering we waited 45 mins after arriving to receive it. The pizza arrived 40 mins after ordering, was soggy, undercooked and had 5 pieces of pepperoni on it, and tasted like it was frozen from a box. They only thing that made it edible was the hot honey on top. No plates or napkins on the table, no waiter came and asked if we were enjoying ourselves. For ‘a paid experience’ I thought that was disappointing in itself. Meanwhile, there was a group of young girls vaping on the table next to us. On another table an order gentleman was asked to leave midway eating his pizza as they needed his table to join with another one. Overall, we left absolutely appalled by the service, food and overall experience. Was not worth the hour drive to get there.

Hi Zoey, I'm sorry you didn't receive a great experience. We were extremely busy, and this obviously meant unintentionally, service level dropped. I will investigate the vaping, as this is strictly not allowed in the distillery. In order to redeem ourselves, I'd like to invite you back for the same experience, with my compliments. Please email me when you're able to visit. Rob@route9distillery.com.au

So, you'll wonder where you are when you pull into a shopping centre and you think you're walking into a gym but once you're in Route 9 Distillery you will have a great time. The staff were very knowledgeable about the spirits. The gins were great. Definitely give this a go.
