The Royal Oak in Alveley is a charming British pub and eatery that offers a delightful carvery at a very reasonable price. The establishment boasts a great atmosphere for Sunday lunch, complete with a massive selection of vegetables with the roast. The interior design is warm and welcoming, with varied seating options both inside and out. The staff are friendly and accommodating, with maitre'd Andy going above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable.

The menu offers a range of dishes, including a fantastic all-you-can-eat breakfast and a delicious beef cob with chips and two pints of Bathams. Vegetarians are also catered for with a decent selection of options. The pub is well-known for its Bathams beer, but also offers a variety of other drinks, including moonshine cider and gluten-free options.

The Royal Oak is located in a lovely countryside setting, making it an ideal spot for a family meal or gathering with friends. The establishment also offers special deals, such as 2-for-1 Monday evenings and Christmas Day menus.

Overall, The Royal Oak is a great value fine dining spot that provides excellent food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended dishes include the lamb shank, fish and chips, and the Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

3 adults and a child went today for lunch to the Royal Oak. The food, a carvery, was nice, but only warm. The adults had virtually finished their food and the childs portion, still hadn't arrived. We chased it up, and it seems it was overlooked. The only serving staff, George, went above and beyond, however he was so busy, (as was John in the bar area) booking customers in, taking orders, serving on the carvery, serving the drinks, clearing the tables. The poor lad was rushed of his feet. He was so polite, helpful and couldn't apologise enough for our wait. I hope the management see him for his true value. He is a credit to the pub/restaurant. Only 2 staff to cover bar and restaurant. Not good in a busy eating/drinking establishment. The only reason I have given 4 stars is because of the fantastic service received from George. Parking: Plenty of spaces. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Carvery Roast Beef Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot

Probably the worst carvery in the history of carveries. Terrible service and really poor maintenance, the outside is scruffy and poorly kept. We were really disappointed. They had been busy so had ran out but it was clear from the dirty plates left outside for over an hour they are either understaffed or poorly managed. Parking: Lots of parking. Easy access. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot

We continuously welcome feedback however good or bad that may be. In regards to the slow service you are correct we have been overwhelmed with the custom the last few weeks and as a small business we cannot always guarantee staff to be available at short notice. That being said there is of course lessons to be learned from this. Our outside has been used over the last few weeks for events and although as you described as ‘scruffy’ we can assure you that is not the case as the return of our maintence and grounds keeper has ensured a swift turn around. As we try our very best to ensure you enjoy your visit and this was not the case for yourself please do send us an email info@theroyaloakcarvery.net Many thanks Stacey More

Dined 18/08/24, was greeted by Derek when we walked in as if he'd known us 20 years, felt very comfortable and welcome immediately, the restaurant is spotless and very well laid out, we had the carvery, which I must say was very tasty, all fresh vegetables, and very reasonably priced. Only problem,, the food needs to be kept warmer, by the time we were half way through eating, it had gone really cold. But all in all we had a nice few hours there and would recommend it Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot
