Roy's is one of my favorite restaurants around. The people are so nice, food is delicious, and I was impressed with their safety measures during this pandemic I felt totally safe and wore out masks in-between our courses and we were still able to talk and have a good time. The butterfish is amazing I get it every time.

My husband made reservations with Roy’s Orlando to celebrate my birthday. We are no stranger to this restaurant. We have dined here at least five times previously. To say dining was inexcusably bad doesn't even begin to express how we felt after dinner. We decided to do "small plates" for dinner choosing from their Appetizers as we normally choose entrees from your Dinner Menu. The following menu items were mostly poorly executed or uninspired: Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs - They were tough and dry. It appeared these had been overcooked. Our waitress asked how they were and we advised her of same. She asked if she could get us more, but why would we want more of the same? Crunchy Golden Lobster Potstickers - no complaints. Crispy Chicken Spring Roll - no complaints. Crispy Wok Fried Shrimp Tempura - The best out of all the appetizers we chose. After the appetizers my husband and I split the Maui Wowie Salad and the Lobster Bisque. The Maui Wowie Salad lackluster. It was absolutely flavorless. We would have been hard pressed to tell you there was lime juice in the vinaigrette. You could see and taste the capers as they were numerous. If there was vinaigrette, you didn't see it or taste it on the lettuce. In fact, the salad was dry. The Lobster Bisque was not bisque. This "bisque" was viscous. Somewhere close to a heavy pudding. Bisque should be a creamy soup. If we hadn't seen the lobster bits in our bowls, we would have been hard pressed to tell you this was Lobster Bisque. Dessert is their strength and we were not disappointed there. Actually, sad to say dessert was the best part of our meal - Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Roy's Melting Hot Souffle. The point is If this had been a $70.00 meal it still would have been an extreme disappointment. This was not a meal worthy of the final bill. Roy’s chef should be ashamed of the food which came out of his kitchen that night and presented as fine dining to us. By the way...don’t bother sending an email to: guestservices@sscpmanagement.com because they don’t respond to one’s concern about their dining experience. Unfortunately, I don't see us returning anytime soon nor can I recommend to my friends to make the trip down from The Villages to dine at Roy's Restaurant in Orlando.
