Food very average and lacked any real taste. Expensive for the portion sizes we recieved. Our waiter was quite rude and ignorant which surprised me as the restaurant was very quiet when we visited. The atmosphere and decor are lovely though it does feel very authentic but unfortunately very middle of the road food and poor service ruined our visit and we will not be returning. We had heard mixed opinions about Rozafa, but after finally trying it ourselves, we can confidently say we won’t be returning. The food was extremely expensive for the quality and portion sizes. The mezze costs £13.90 per person, and you have to order two from the same type, you can’t mix and match. Once the food arrived, it became obvious why. The meal consists of 6 tiny plates, but the portions are disappointing. The ones of the sausage dishes was literally a würstel cut in half. The hummus and tzatziki came in very small bowls, and for the price, you would expect much more. The pitta bread definitely bought from supermarket that had simply been warmed up. The salad was clearly not fresh, the tomatoes were soft, watery and had no flavour, the lettuce and peppers tasted past their best, the olives had a sour and stale taste, and the feta on top was dry and lacked freshness. The chips also tasted they had been cooked in old oil, soaked oily. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the two meatballs, which were ok. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t much better. The waiter who took our order came across as rude and uninterested. We were simply asking questions about the menu, but his responses made it seem like he didn’t want to be there. At the end of the meal, I asked for the service charge to be removed. I completely understand being asked once if there was an issue, but the waiter who processed the payment kept insisting on knowing why, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. If a customer asks for the service charge to be removed, one polite question is enough, the decision should then be respected. Overall, the experience confirmed everything we had previously heard about this restaurant. For the prices they charge, the food quality, freshness and service simply don’t justify the cost. We definitely won’t be coming back. Price service included 55.22£ for : 6 small mezze plates, half caraffe of wine and a portion of chips.
