Super cool place. We were asked if it was our first time here, we said yes and our server explained the menu and even gave us samples. The food was so good and the “moist brisket” was literally the most tender meat I have ever had. Really enjoyed this place and highly recommend if you close by. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Brisket Moist 1 2 lb

Been a while since I've visited, even longer since I've reviewed. The menu hasn't changed, (except prices, but that's everywhere). Flavors haven't changed; a good thing. I had moist brisket, smoked turkey, and cole slaw, washed down with a Frostie root beer. I visited at 1:00 pm, not an off hour, but the meat was served up at room temperature. Not cold, but not also not the least bit warm. Kind of took the luster off my meal. Bummer!

Recommended by a friend, my husband and I came to Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q (close by the 10 freeway, an easy find), we came here on a Sunday night around 7 pm. There was a line but the wait to order wasn't bad. When we got to the register (please note that there is a separate line for to go orders), we let the employee know that it was our first time. She seemed delighted and provided us a complementary sample of brisket and turkey. We ended up ordering: 1/2 lb pork ribs, (came out to 0.55 lb) $7.69 prior to tax- Tender and juicy ribs, highly recommend ordering this. 1/2 order of sausage, $2.49 prior to tax- Another good item to order. The sausage was juicy and flavorful. I liked that the sausages were sliced down the middle, which made it easier to share. 1/4 lb brisket, moist, (came out to 0.24 lb) $4.08 prior to tax- Of all the places we tried barbecue on our recent Houston vacation, this was my favorite. The brisket was seasoned perfectly and very moist. Definitely make sure to order the brisket if you come here. Jumbo Smoked Potato w/ Meat, $7.49 prior to tax- I ended up picking turkey for the meat and asked for the turkey, sour cream, chives, cheese and butter on the side. Figured it would be on big mess and would have preferred to just add in a little bit at a time. The turkey was flavorful and also moist. This baked potato is definitely jumbo size and can easily be shared with 2 other people. ------------------------ (Total= $23.87 after tax) White bread comes with your order. My husband actually had asked if we could get whole wheat instead (the dietitian in me needs fiber), which we were able to get. The very friendly employee helping us was so sweet in asking how many slices did we want and didn't mind giving us the amount we asked (we ended up making 2 sandwiches to keep for the next day) There is a small condiment bar to help yourself to, including to go containers in case you need to take home leftovers (in which you most likely will). Of the 3 places we had barbecue, both my husband and I agree that Rudy's was the best. They also ended up being the cheapest too. I would definitely come back. Please note that after you order and get your food, you are free to find a table wherever there you wish to sit. There is also a nice (covered) outdoor seating area that had heat lamps (unfortunately there were not turned on and it was rather dark outside. Not sure if lights were not turned on or if there were no lights) in case you wish to dine with your pet the the next time you come here for a delicious meal.
