This place is safe and comfortable as your Me-maws wood paneled basement. Grab a drink at the bar and plow into any of several well-worn vintage sofas. Admire the art and other kitch spangling the walls . On karaoke night everyone’s a winner and the last song is a group sing. Let your freak flag fly, square people are the weird ones here. I visited this establishment on Friday, 24 Nov. 2023. I was there 4 years previous with the same friend that accompanied me this time. The bartender was very sweet, and gracious. . . At first. Moments after I'd ordered a glass of wine, my good friend, who had apparently stopped behind me to visit with an acquaintance before entering the establishment, appeared at the bar next to me. The "very sweet", and kind, bartender immediately morphed into a very different person with a very brash demeanor. She abruptly halted her pour, and advised my good, and lifelong friend, that they were "Closed", and last call had been announced. My female companion stated that Mr. Ernst was "with us". The formerly "sweet & kind" bartender immediately advised us all that the "bar is closed", and exited from behind the bar. We decided to leave without further incident. My female companion and I were completely perplexed as to what just happened. Too bad bc we traveled a long ways to revisit this quaint lil town and this, what we believed to be, a fine dining / drinking establishment. . . Sooooooo sad Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Going to Ryan's Public House feels like stopping in on a good friend's house, meeting their friends, and then a great band walks in and plays for you live in the livingroom. Adult beverages are very reasonable and the hospitality is the best value of all.
