SABAR is a seafood restaurant nestled in Chuo, specifically on Ginza Street. With a focus on seafood, patrons can expect a variety of dishes centered around this cuisine, perhaps offering a unique course that allows diners to sample multiple offerings during their first visit. The establishment features a relaxed setting with counter seating, ideal for those who enjoy a casual dining environment.

The restaurant operates throughout the week, welcoming guests from early evening until late at night. Despite its seemingly appealing offerings, it's worth noting that visitor feedback appears sparse, with the most recent review dated eight years ago. This could indicate potential room for growth or changes since then, but exact details remain unknown.

Beer is available on the menu, adding a beverage option to complement your meal. However, it's important to emphasize the lack of updated reviews or additional information from the owners. Visitors currently bask in an intriguing experience based solely on the initial impressions offered years ago.

A beautifully designed place with thoughtful presentation and truly delicious food. If you love saba (mackerel), this spot is pure paradise — every dish is creative, flavorful, and crafted with care. I liked how the image of saba was used in all visuals here. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Onsen with Hansen 【温泉が大好きなハンセン】 Request content removal
【鯖愛は伝わるけど、もう一歩惜しい】 Tucked just five minutes from Shimbashi Station, SABAR offers a quirky concept—an entire izakaya dedicated to mackerel—and we were curious enough to stop by for a quick post-work bite and a drink. Welcomed warmly around 6pm on a busy Friday, we appreciated being squeezed in before the dinner rush. The interior hums with casual afterwork energy, and the staff were friendly despite the clear time crunch. We ordered two dishes: the raw mackerel with sesame sauce and the grilled scallops and asparagus in foil, along with a round of lemon sours. While the mackerel was fresh and the sesame touch enjoyable, the portions were notably small. The grilled scallops dish felt particularly underwhelming—mostly a steaming pile of onions with a few sparse pieces of scallop and asparagus, far from the photo’s promise. At ¥4000 for two drinks and two light dishes, the cost-performance didn’t quite land. The concept is fun, and for die-hard mackerel fans, perhaps worth a try. But based on this visit, it’s not a place I’d be rushing back to. ⸻ Features 5 minutes walk from Shimbashi Station ️ Order: Raw mackerel with sesame sauce, Grilled scallops and asparagus in foil Waiting time: Seated quickly but limited to one hour Payment: Cash and Credit Card Would I visit again?
