A little hidden gem on Zamami Island! The restaurant is tucked away in a small alley, so keep an eye out or you might easily miss it. The staff speak decent English, and they also have a english menu that explained the ingredient they serve, which made ordering easy. They The food was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the rice with silver fish top with salmon roe - it is incredibly fresh and delicious. Trust me, you could easily finish the whole bowl, even if you're not normally a rice person like me! We also tried the wakame tempura and salt-grilled saba, both cooked to perfection. The sequasha beer was really refreshing and a great match with the food. Also, always ask for the sashimi of the day. They can put together a selection of the freshest fish available that day, a must to order. The ambience was great too — the perfect place to relax after a fruitful day of diving, enjoy a drink, good food and the local vibes. Definitely a place I’d happily return to when I’m back on Zamami! The perfect last dinner on Zamami. I came here starving on my final night on the island, and SANTA absolutely delivered. The grilled black cod with saikyo miso is a standout — rich, tender, melt-in-your-mouth, exactly as good as the other reviews promise. The fresh sashimi was excellent (you can tell it’s local catch), and I couldn’t stop ordering — the eel rice bowl and karaage were both fantastic too. Everything is made with real care. They also have a great awamori selection — I had the Zanpa Shiro on the rocks, which paired beautifully with the fish. Cozy izakaya atmosphere, friendly staff, top-tier quality. It’s popular for good reason, so go early or book ahead. If you’re on Zamami and want a genuinely delicious Okinawan izakaya meal, come here. A wonderful way to end my island stay.
