I had a yummy bouillabaisse, and my daughter had a Wagyu rigatoni. They were small-sized portions but very tasty. The cocktails (homemade local citrus, yum) were pricey but delicious. The only real complaint was that I had to order bread separately (and pay). And there was very little broth. I’ve never experienced bouillabaisse without bread on the side. Still, nice night out and great service. Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We visited Soil twice during our trip to Okinawa: once in the middle of our journey, and then again right before departure. We simply could not leave Okinawa without returning. Chef Issei Hirayasu is a true master of his craft, and we wanted one more chance to experience his cooking before saying goodbye to the island. Every dish we tried was thoughtful, refined, and deeply satisfying. We started with the Tuna pate with baguette, incredibly delicate and clean in flavor, and the Grilled eggplant with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, which was comforting yet elegant. We also enjoyed the seasonal potage soups on both visits: once the sweet potato potage, and another time the tomato potage. Both were beautifully smooth, perfectly balanced, and warming without being heavy. For main dishes, everything was exceptional. The Taro gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce were tender and rich without overwhelming the palate. The Sautéed local fish with carrot sauce was light, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with the sweetness of the carrots complementing the fish beautifully. And the highlight of the entire trip: the Nakijin Wagyu ribeye steak - quite simply the best steak I have ever had in my life. Perfect texture, perfect doneness, and incredible depth of flavor. Desserts were just as memorable. The Kumquat cheesecake and Tiramisu were both outstanding, elegant, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. A wonderful way to end the meal. Soil is a place where you can feel the care, precision, and respect for ingredients in every plate. Thank you, Chef Hirayasu, for creating such a meaningful and unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant became an essential part of our Okinawa memories, and we are deeply grateful. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This might be the best restaurant in a whole island and I dont lie. I have eaten pasta in Italy, Nordics, Estonia, Spain, Thailand, South Korea etc. and I have never eat so well. It takes time to get your food but its all worth it! They make almost everything from scratch. There is plenty of drinks and wines to choose from. Place is not too crowded so there is a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff is so polite and kind. They had Iittala plates which was funny for us finns. Its a must go place for everyone who enjoys well made food with quality ingredients. Price per person: ¥4,000–5,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
