Finally, a cafe that doesn't make you feel like you're in Starbucks' 1,457th clone! Soul Cafe in Ain Nakheel is that breath of fresh air you didn't know you needed. The place is cozy enough to make your grandmother's living room jealous, with decor that actually looks like someone put thought into it (shocking, I know!). Let's talk about their spicy tuna sandwich - it's the kind of sandwich that makes you wonder why you've been settling for basic all your life. The tuna was living its best life between those perfectly toasted slices. However, the side salad was playing hard to get - a few lonely greens that could've used some friends and a splash of balsamic vinegar to jazz up the party. For my coffee I ordered a flat white and it was the tiniest sized cup I have had almost like a double espresso sized cup. While the coffee had the aroma and tasted rich and full of flavor it wasn’t hot enough at all. I could gulp it down like a drink. So they certainly need to work on the cup size and the temperature. Now, for the entertainment portion of our visit: the service! Picture this: you say "thank you," and get a stare that makes you wonder if you accidentally spoke in Klingon. It's like playing charades, but nobody told the staff they were playing! The language barrier created moments so awkward situations. Bottom line: If you're tired of cookie-cutter cafes, Soul Cafe is your spot. The food's good enough to make up for those "lost in translation" moments, and hey, at least you'll have funny stories to tell later! P.S. To the greens on my plate - I know you were trying your best with that minimalist approach, but sometimes more is more, darling!
